Early Life and Career Beginnings in Georgia
B.o.B grew up in Decatur, a small city on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia. From an early age, he showed an affinity for music – learning to play the trumpet and drums at age 5, before picking up the guitar in his pre-teen years. While attending Columbia High School in Decatur, B.o.B formed a band with his cousin Swag, playing venues around Atlanta and releasing their first mixtape in 2006.
This caught the attention of fledgling record producer Jim Jonsin, who signed B.o.B to his Rebel Rock Entertainment imprint that same year. Over the next few years, B.o.B honed his craft and style, releasing his breakout mixtape The Future in 2007.
