Tom Sandoval has become one of Bravo’s biggest reality TV stars through his breakout role on Vanderpump Rules. Early Life and Career
Born in St. Louis in 1983, Sandoval grew up in a middle-class family and became drawn to the entertainment industry at a young age. He stayed busy with community theater productions and choir during high school. After graduating, Tom moved to Los Angeles to pursue modeling and acting.
Though he picked up small roles on shows like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Sandoval struggled to find consistent work. To pay the bills, he bartended at high-profile restaurants and clubs, including Ashton Kutcher’s Dolce Enoteca e Ristorante. It was while working at Lisa Vanderpump’s sexy West Hollywood hotspot SUR that Sandoval got his big break.
Joining the Vanderpump Rules Cast
When Bravo came up with the concept for Vanderpump Rules in 2013, Lisa Vanderpump suggested her dynamic SUR employees as an ensemble cast. As an aspiring model/actor who bartended to make ends meet, Sandoval fit the bill perfectly.
Vanderpump Rules became a surprise hit by bringing viewers directly into the interpersonal drama between the hot, young SURvers.
